Involuntary Confinement and Use of Restraints
This course helps caregivers understand that involuntary confinement—keeping someone in a room, chair, or bed against their will—can be a form of abuse. You’ll learn the difference between appropriate and inappropriate use of restraints, and why most restraints are not allowed in home care.
As a caregiver, it is your job to speak up if you see any type of restraint being used. You must report it right away. Clients have the right to be safe, respected, and free to move unless a doctor has given special written instructions.
This course will teach you how to protect clients’ rights and recognize signs of mistreatment.
